In February 2010 New Zealand announced the service specifications for hospitals providing services for adolescents and young adults with cancer, at the heart of these is the recognition of the very points so clearly spelt out in the Bill of Rights. Congratulations on producing such a well thought out Bill of Rights which we plan to proudly display in our inpatient and outpatient areas for all to see.

The Adolescent and Young Adult Cancer Bill of Rights outlines much of what a health service should be providing. We will endeavour to ensure we meet all these rights. It is a great idea to have these so well articulated. They will serve as a reminder for all those staff involved in all aspects of the care of adolescent and young adults with cancer.

We strongly endorse the Bill of Rights and we will do our very best to uphold these.
